10 pictures from our first day at the cabin since Thanksgiving last October. Cabin opening is messy business, particularly when you are also building a deck and the sleeping cabin roof collapsed and you find 2 dead mice in the bread bin and nearly faint, but there is still so much beauty and fun in the chaos and mess.
Now please take the time to visit one of my very favourite people and her gorgeous photos here: Melissa Weicker.
He sees the world from a different perspective.
They call this game "death ride." Apparently, the object is to see who can stay on the longest.
Waiting to hear the news, any day now, when this beautiful family becomes a family of 4. XO
(OK, that was 12, not 10)
Now please follow the circle and visit my beautiful and talented friend Rowe Timson here. (I'm inviting myself to Bali one of these days!)
This is the morning we found some beautiful (albeit dead) leaves and took some pictures with them. To see the rest of the mornings, go here.
"All you need is love"
Spent the perfect Valentines morning with my beautiful daughter, while the boys were skiing. Leisurely morning with a book in bed, visit to our favourite beach, breakfast at De Dutch, trip to the bookstore (and the tennis store) and then to our very favourite stationery store in Granville Island.
To see everyone's Saturday mornings, go here.
Early morning, sleepy and rainy (but beautiful) car ride to ski school. I couldn't pick one picture last night, so the first is the view looking ahead and the second is the view looking behind. Car sick Will clutching his Timbits, OJ and barf bag. To see the rest, visit here.
I like to call this one, "Sam in a hotel drawer". To see the rest of the collaborative project, please visit here.
Getting ready and waiting for high tea at the Empress Hotel in Victoria, BC. Me and my bestie and our beautiful girls.
Please take the time and follow the circle by clicking here to see the amazing Janine Coveney's 10 on 10, way on the other side of the world.
I always panic when another photographer contacts me to do family photos (pressure!) but this was honestly the nicest family who had traveled from Hawaii…so much love and laughter together. Easy peasy. It didn't hurt that it was such a perfectly, beautiful fall evening. XO
Yes, they all are on their iPads. It's how we roll sometimes. It is also the way I can stay in bed a little longer (not a morning person). You can see the rest of the week here.
Will checking for snow before ski school starts. You can see the rest of the mornings here.
5 minutes of all three of them, quietly doing a puzzle together. Part of a Christmas collaboration we did over at the 5 Minute Project. I'm pretty excited to continue this project in 2015 with 19 other super talented and inspiring photographers. Truthfully, I find myself a bit uninspired during the dark winter months and hankering for summer on the island, so this project will force me to get my big camera out and be creative.
When Molly contacted me to do an extended family session at 11:00am outside on a bright sunny day, I was admittedly a bit reluctant. But there was some urgency, because their Grama was sick and it became quickly apparent that this was a special, close knit family who would truly cherish the morning together in their Grama's beloved garden and cherish the photos we took together. I am so grateful I agreed to come over and take pictures in my bare feet and mimosa in one hand. Sadly, only a few weeks after this session, their Grama passed. In the brief time I met her, it was obvious she was an amazing lady who was loved tremendously by her family.
