the
INVINCIBL E
SUMMER
“ In the depth of winter,
I finally learned that
within me there lay,
an Invincible Summer.”
-Albert Camus
My summer photography is rooted in two places. Mostly in our 23 years at our West Coast island cabin where my children grew up, running amuck barefoot, sun and salt stained. And the summers of my own childhood with my cousins in Ontario in my grandparent’s backyard.
These photos are also part of a larger project I’m working on-The Invincible Summer-a collection of photographs, rituals, stories and a curated online store that is inspired by and celebrates summer on the Pacific West Coast.
These photographs aren’t styled. They’re remembered.
